Arts Connection for Monday, April 11, 2016 - Hannah Hayes - "Betty the Polar Bear" series

Growing up, talking about difficult issues was encouraged in the household of tonight’s guest. That, and her love for polar bears led to the creation of Hannah Hayes’ book Betty the Polar Bear where the heroine struggles with self-esteem. This has led to a series of books featuring Betty and her friends as the deal with issues like allergies, bullying and the kiss of a loved one. Hannah is on is on the phone with us from her home in Edmonton to talk about the books.

Interludes feature music from The Royal Foundry's Wherever We Go CD.
