Arts Connection for Monday, July 7, 2014 - Phil Irish - Banff Centre for the Arts experience

The last time Arts Connection talked to Elora artist Phil Irish (http://www.philirish.com/Phil_Irish_08/Phil_Irish%3A_Visual_Artist.html), he had just arrived in Alberta and was a day into settling down to his residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts. He’s back from the six-week program and, recently, hosted an “artist’s travelogue”—an illustrated romp through Alberta where he took in mountains, the Athabasca Glacier, the oil sands and a landfill site among other locales. Phil talks about the studio process during his residency and a few of the other artists who challenged and inspired him.
