A little bit about me

I've had some good new recently. Here's a blip about it from The Guelph Mercury : Guelph writer up for Christian writing awards  http://t.co/LO17P0FQ

The cliche is that it's always an honour to be nominated. And in this case it is for me. I can see at least one other writer in each category who is a much better writer than I am, so the expectation of a win is minimal. Here's who I'm up against:

Fellow nominees in Book - Inspirational/Devotional category are: Carla Anne Coroy (Man. for Married Mom, Solo Parent: Finding God's Strength to Face the Challenge), Sherri Hildebrandt (More than Enough: My Breast Cancer Story), Cathaleen Mogus (Dare To Dance Again: Steps from the Psalms When Life Trips You Up), George Slater (Along Comes God: Miracles in Everyday Life) and Ann Voskamp (One Thousand Gifts).

Fellow nominees in Book - Christian Living category are: Greg Paul "Close Enough To Hear God Breathe" and Sam Tita for "Deciding to Know God in a Deeper Way: Be Arrested by His Grace."

I'll just have to wait and see what the gala brings.

BTW, for anyone who's interested, you still have time to enter the 2012 Word Alive Press competition. If it weren't for winning the 2010 prize, Chasing the Wind wouldn't even be in this year's awards. You can find details here: http://wordalivepress.ca/2012Contest.html
