Arts Connection for Monday, July 18, 2016 - Jon Bauer - "The Light in Us" CD

With seven GMA Canada Covenant Awards and a Juno Award nomination to his credit, tonight’s guest’s latest CD, The Light in Us, chronicles a season of healing and restoration. Singer/songwriter Jon Bauer describes the music on the CD as an outcome of “a healing journey I have been on the last couple of years as I have leaned on the faithfulness of God even when I have not felt Him near.”.

Formed a couple of years ago, the Shiyr (sheer) Poets (https://theshiyrpoets.com/) goal was to breathe new life into the ancient Psalms. Two CDs and 20 Psalms later the group comprising veteran musicians Brian Doerksen, Calum Rees, Brian Thiessen and Teresa Trask have gone in a completely different direction with their newest CD: Recover.
