The first two books in the Hot Apple Cider series were filled with stories to warm the heart and soul. An effort of That’s Life Communications, the two anthologies spotlighted Canadian writers and had a combined print run of 90,000 copies. Author, and co-editor of the series, NJ Lindquist is now looking for submissions for book 3 in the series: Hot Apple Cider with Cinnamon.
This summer students spent five weeks in Montreal learning and living the intersection of Arts, Faith and the City (https://www.bulbapp.com/montrealart). Tonight’s guest co-ordinated the seminar, sponsored by Youth With a Mission’s University of the Nations, the Wycliffe Bible Translators and Christian Direction. In an interview in Faith Today, Noemie Jean-Bourgeualt said the seminar would “give students the essential tools to understand the history and roots of the culture they live in.”

And she and her husband are currently trying to adopt their third child. He’s also won a string of GMA Canada Covenant Awards and in 2008 he was given a Juno Award for his album Holy God. The B.C.-based singer/songwriter now has a new project in the works—the Shiyr Poets project (http://www.theshiyrpoets.com/) which is “making the world’s most loved and ancient songbook new again."
The last time we talked to tonight’s guest, he was getting ready for an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the death of C.S. Lewis. John Franklin is the director of Imago (http://imago-arts.org/) which, since 1972 has actively promoted and advocated for the arts in Canada. One of the ways Imago has done this is through regular series of arts showcases, with a showcase slated for Wednesday, June 18.
Every year for the past 25 years or so, tonight’s guest has written a new song for the Christmas Eve service at Coquitlam, B.C.’s Blue Mountain Baptist Church. About a decade ago Carolyn Arends (http://carolynarends.com/) took to the recording studio to put songs to tape and produced her first, and, to date, her only Christmas CD called Christmas: An Irrational Season. With a few more songs in her repertoire, Carolyn after some urging from her fans that it was time to record another Christmas offering.
