Tonight’s guest is an award-winning musician who had a vision for encouraging artists across the country.

The last time we talked to tonight’s guest, she had just released her first novel. With her latest book, YesterCanada: Historical Tales of Mystery and Adventure, Elma Schemenauer (http://elmams.wixsite.com/elma) returns to non-fiction writing with a collection of 30 historic Canadian tales.

Tonight’s guest writes for various newspapers and magazines in the Greater Toronto area, is a communications and PR assistant for two non-profit organizations and is a freelance ghost writer. Melony Teague (http://www.melonyteague.com/) is also one of the five authors of As the Ink Flows: Devotions to Inspire Christian Writers & Speakers which was released earlier this year.

Marcia Laycock’s latest project is Christmas: Short Stories to Stir the Christmas Spirit, a collection of three short stories and a novella. Marcia’s on the phone with us from her Blackfalds, Alberta home office to talk about Christmas.

In the first two books of the Compassion Series, author Tim Huff has looked homelessness and the disabled. Josh Tiessen (http://www.joshtiessen.com/) has packed more into two decades than some people have packed into a lifetime. The 21-year-old artist has been exhibiting his paintings since he was 11 and recently published a book that takes a look at his life and his art.

Steve Bell has, once again, created a collection of music that will be a delight to the ears and a challenge to the heart. Where the Good Way Lies is the Winnipeg singer/songwriter’s newest CD and features songs that speaks of both the human condition and God’s grace.

High River singer/songwriter Karla Adolphe has had a couple of trying years and recently found herself searching God for the next step in her life and music ministry. After a brief hiatus, and connecting with a friend going through a similar experience, Adolphe and American singer/songwriter Ben Pasley re-formed the group Enter the Worship Circle. The duo has recently released Down Here and Up Above, their first EP.

Two of south-central Ontario’s better-known musicians—guitarist/singer/songwriter Jacob Moon and Newworldson front man Joel Parisien—have joined forces to form The Commissionaires, a new soul-based musical group that has a strong social justice message. The group has been busy in the studio with a recording and planning tour dates and Jacob talks about The Commissionaires.
