Singer/songwriter Bruce Cockburn’s 40-year music career has touched many—those who listen to his music and those who have been influenced by it in their own careers, such as Steve Bell, Allie Matthews and Glen Soderholm. As well as being well-crafted, Cockburn’s music has exuded a spirituality which has been both clear and ambiguous at the same time. Brian J. Walsh, a chaplain and adjunct professor of theology of culture at Toronto’s Wycliffe College, about this in his book Kicking at the Darkness: Bruce Cockburn and the Christian Imagination. Brian talks about the book and his perspective on the spirituality found in Cockburn’s work.
