Many of the masters, such as Paul Gaugin, Gustave Klimt, Edvard Munch and Canada’s Emily Carr, expressed a spirituality, or mysticism, in their works. The upcoming “Mystical Landscapes: Masterpieces from Monet to Van Gogh” exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario will explore this topic, which Imago director John Franklin had a hand in developing.
