Arts Connection for November 4, 2013 - Jacob Moon - "Fascination" CD

An award-winning singer/songwriter and guitarist, tonight’s guest has taken songs by some of his musical influences, songs that he’s been fascinated by, and produced them for his latest CD. The release concert for Jacob Moon’s Fascination CD (http://www.jacobmoon.com) took place this past weekend and he’s on the phone with us tonight to talk about the CD and his influences.

Arts Connection for October 28, 2013 - Jeremy Zeyl - "Heidelberg: Songs from the Catechism" CD

Tonight’s guest is one-third of the folk trio Isobelle Gunn. But Jeremy Schat-Zyl’s latest project was a conversion of the Heidelberg Catechism from text to liturgical resource. The CD—The Heidelberg Project—which he worked on with his wife Lara, is being released to celebrate the 450th anniversary of the catechism and can be used as a worship resource and meditative listening piece. Jeremy’s on the phone with us tonight from his London home to talk about the project.

Arts Connection for October 21, 2013 - Nick Law - Abstract photography

According to his brief bio on the Guelph Studio Tour website, our guest “is a photographic artist who creates abstract/impressionist images as one of a kind single edition works mounted on board under acrylic.” Nick Law was also the second artist-in-residence at Lakeside Church and he joins us to talk about his art, his experiences and his upcoming exhibit as part of the Guelph Studio Tour.

Ten years ago, members of Theatre & Co. split off to start their own company. Since that start Lost & Found Theatre (http://www.lostandfoundtheatre.com) has produced quality stage plays, promoted local and up-and-coming playwrights and encouraged youth to look at a career in theatre. A finalist in the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting contest, her CD missmatched is nominated in the Pop/Contemporary Album category for this year’s GMA Canada Covenant Awards. Mags Wang (http://magsthesinger.com/) is a young singer/songwriter who’s single “Lead Me to the River” talks about her personal journey out of depression and is a message she says the world needs to hear.
