The setting for Lost & Found Theatre’s (http://www.lostandfoundtheatre.com/) next play, which opens this week, is just steps away from where the play will take place. On the Inside tells the story of the first hanging in the community then known as Berlin and the impact it has on the governor’s new wife. Tonight’s guests include On the Inside director Richard Quesnel and actress Christy Ziss.

Arts Connection for February 21, 2013 - Jay Calder - guitar virtuoso

Jay Calder has been called the Canadian Phil Keaggy. A guitar virtuoso whose first CD Breakfast with Barnabas was nominated for a Canadian Vibe Award and a solo performer who received the “Best Acoustic Artist” at the Toronto Independent Music Awards. Calder is also part of the Couples Night Out team and has been travelling the country with that ministry, which was in Kitchener recently.

Douglas Thompson’s paintings (http://jdthompson.net/index.html) , one can feel the wind against their face or the texture of the ground—be it stone or earth—under their feet. Doug’s larger-scale paintings—often on canvas or masonite board—depict the textures of the land whether it’s found along the north shore of Lake Superior, the west coast of Vancouver Island or the high country far above the tree line in the Rockies.

Arts Connection for January 31, 2013 - Janette Routley - Reconnect Conference

Without sound techs, churchgoers wouldn’t be able to hear the worship music.  Without lighting techs, we wouldn’t be able to see the pastor or the worship team. And without computer techs, the words to songs and the sermon PowerPoint presentation wouldn’t appear on the screens. It’s this technical work of many behind-the-scenes staff and volunteers that makes our Sunday worship experience what it is. And these tech-savvy people are constantly honing their skills and learning about the latest equipment and programs available.
